Promoting circular economy and local production for local consumption to contribute to a sustainable future for Thailand
On October 1, 2023, Techno Brave Asia Ltd. as the “Decarbonized Community” initiated a project in Bangkok, Thailand, focused on validating a circular economy model centered around consumer demand.
This project started with a small-scale approach, targeting specific regions and agricultural products. In November, we completed our first community farm and began tomato cultivation. By December, we introduced a new menu featuring fresh organic ingredients at the farm restaurant, along with limited-time campaigns and Farm To Table parties, creating an immediate buzz within the local community.
Numerous stakeholders are involved in this project, including universities, startups, farmers, logistics and construction companies, restaurants, and customers. The project team actively engages in discussions with university representatives, farmers, and service providers, striving to create a demand chain that ensures everyone’s well-being.
One of the project’s core values is listening to consumer feedback. Through interviews, surveys, and thorough analysis at the project headquarters, we seek to understand consumers’ current interests and needs. This information guides our efforts to develop solutions for a circular society involving farmers and service providers.
This endeavor aims to contribute to local communities, enhance people’s well-being, promote a circular economy, and support the realization of a carbon-neutral society. Furthermore, the demand chain we propose enables the swift supply of fresh ingredients, ensuring food safety, quality assurance, and addressing food waste issues.
In addition, the community farms established in the region provide an opportunity for families and friends to engage in cooking while getting hands-on experience in agriculture. Through environmentally-friendly experiences, we deepen understanding of nature, environmental issues, and well-being.
Looking ahead, we plan to continue validating our business model in Thailand and consider the possibility of importing this model to Japan in the future, driving the project forward.
